Two people are dead and one person is in the hospital after an early Saturday morning shooting in West Haven.

Police say they responded to a bar on Campbell Avenue and found the three victims outside just before 1:30 a.m.

They say one victim was awake and alert, but the other two victims were unresponsive.

Detectives closed off the road while they investigated.

The circumstances that led to the shooting or a description of a suspect or suspects involved were still unknown as of Saturday night.
