Two people have died after a chaotic single-car crash on Interstate 95 in Stratford Saturday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.
Investigators say the crash happened at around 10:15 a.m. near Exit 32.
According to police, the 2019 Mazda CX-9 was traveling northbound on the I-95 when it suddenly flew across all lanes of traffic, off the road and into a grassy area of the exit ramp. The car then struck a traffic sign support and a tree before it came to a rest.
The driver and the sole passenger of the Mazda were pronounced dead at the scene, investigators say.
Multiple agencies responded to the crash, including the Stratford Fire Department, Stratford EMS, the Department of Transportation, State Police and its Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad (C.A.R.S.).
Officials say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The victims' identities were not immediately known.
