Gerald Sutherland, who was visiting his daughter from Florida, says he was desperate to get nine-month pregnant Brittany Sutherland to the hospital.
Feeling helpless in bumper-to-bumper Brooklyn traffic, Gerald Sutherland says he saw a patrol car and immediately drove up to them.
Officers Joseph Abate and John McCarthy, of the 78th Precinct, told Gerald Sutherland to follow them.
Brittany Sutherland and 3-week-old Zi'Asia were able to meet the two officers who helped welcome the baby girl into the world.
