Hundreds of employees of the big-brand bakery Hostess are worried about losing their jobs as a labor dispute drags on.

Local 145 workers say about 200 Hostess jobs across the state are threatened, including 50 driver jobs at a Hostess depot in Bridgeport.

The Twinkies-maker is permanently closing three bakeries across the country as its workers strike. It operates 36 bakeries nationwide and employs about 18,300 people, but workers fret that more bakeries could be shuttered as the strike continues.

The workers went on strike on Nov. 9 to protest wage and benefit cuts under a contract offer that the union has rejected. Hostess Brands CEO Gregory F. Rayburn has said the entire company will close down if widespread strikes continue to cripple its business.
