Four Connecticut schools are being recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2019.
The Blue Ribbon award is given to schools across the nation for demonstrating overall high achievement, including closing achievement gaps.
The
Hartford Courant reports that Guilford High School and North Mianus Elementary School in Greenwich received Exemplary High Performing awards. John Barry Elementary School in Meriden and the Tracey Magnet School in Norwalk received Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing awards.
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos made the Blue Ribbon announcement on YouTube earlier this week.
