Homeowner claims person he rented his pool out to invited 120 people over for pool party

A Milford homeowner rented his pool out for a party recently and things got a little out of control.
Haystack Road is typically a quiet street, but on the night of June 24, it was anything but.
The homeowner, who did not want to be identified, says he used an app called Swimply to rent out his pool, which he's done many times in the past.
“Little kids birthday parties, 3-year-old, 5-year-old, 9-year-old…the other ones have been like a baby shower or like a sweet 16, and then we had the big disaster,” said the homeowner.
He says he was completely fooled when the people booking the party told him it wouldn't be crowded or loud.
The homeowner says the party was advertised on social media and the clients' sold tickets and alcohol – and more than 120 people showed up.
“If I'd have known it was going to be like that, I would have never ever hosted anything like that,” the homeowner said.
The homeowner has had more parties since, but nothing like the one on June 24, mainly birthday parties for young kids.
Milford officials are still considering a noise ordinance.
Carolyn Butler has lived there for 30 years and was curious, so she downloaded an app that would tell her just how loud the party was.
“My house was rocking with the windows closed inside, it was rocking at 80 to 90 decibels,” Butler said.
The homeowner was given violations for running a commercial party and not getting permits.
