'We can all make a difference.' Fairfield Girl Scout uses craft to raise awareness for victims of human trafficking

A decorated Girl Scout in Fairfield knows all about camping and selling cookies, but she's using another skill to speak up for crime victims whose voices often go unheard.
Samara Negrin, 17, relishes being a member of the Girl Scouts.
"I love Girl Scouts," says Negrin.
Negrin created a project that focuses on the fight against human trafficking. Instead of grains of sand, she utilizes beads to string thousands of bracelets and key chains -- each with a message to help people who are often invisible.
"It struck a chord with me, and I knew I had to do something about it," says Negrin. "I believe we can all make a difference, and we are all tiny ripples that can create a tidal wave."
Her bracelets and key chains have messages like ripple, pray and faith.
Negrin will hold her second charity walk to fight human trafficking on Oct. 15 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Fairfield.
