A fallen Hartford police officer was caught on a body cam saving a woman from a river last month.
Video footage showed Robert Garten – who was fatally hit by an 18-year-old driver this week – helping a woman on to a boat and pulling her to safety back on Aug. 19.
Hartford police say the women and two others were partially sunk in the river in front of Riverside Park.
Officers added the three women drifted more than 3,000 feet.
