Connecticut DOT fielding public comments on proposed fare hike, decreased service
One-way fares on the Metro-North could go up between 25 cents to $1 more per ride under the plan.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation has scheduled a series of public hearings next month on a plan that includes cutting some Metro-North trains and increase fares.

Here's a look at the proposed Metro-North fare increases.
When it comes to rail service:
Decreased Monday to Thursday service on New Haven Line from 239 to 237 trains
Decreased Friday service on New Haven Line from 241 to 233 trains
Decreased weekday service on New Canaan Branch from 41 to 39 trains
Decreased weekday service on Danbury Branch from 28 to 26 trains
There are also proposed changes to CTtransit bus service, including a new bus line with service from Milford to New Haven.
