Police: Car hit by train in Norwalk

Officers closed Crescent Street in Norwalk from Butler to North Water streets while they helped MTA police investigate the situation further. The road is now open.

Norwalk police say they are investigating a car accident involving a train.

Officers closed Crescent Street in Norwalk from Butler to North Water streets while they helped MTA police investigate the situation further. The road is now open.

There were minor injuries reported. There is no word yet on the identity of the driver.

Metro-North temporarily suspended Danbury Branch service between South Norwalk and Wilton while it attempted to find alternate transportation for riders. It says train service is now back on track.
