Heavy rains and high winds are expected to hit the region on Tuesday. 

News 12 Connecticut’s Justin DeVellis is in the Thunderbolt 12 to report road conditions as the state deals with downpours and potentially damaging winds.  

Officials are warning that a couple of inches of water is enough to damage your car and make you lose control of your vehicle.

Power outages were reported in Fairfield County. Eversource says one of the outages was reportedly due to tree limbs.

Forecasting maximum wind gusts up to 60 mph for this area.

Westport Fire Department is reminding everyone if a power line goes down in your yard. stay inside and report it by calling 911.
