Legislators and the School Meals 4 All CT coalition were at the State Capital on Wednesday to propose a law to ensure continued funding for no-cost school meals for students.

In their latest session, the legislature and Governor Lamont granted $16 million for schools to serve breakfast for students who qualify to receive free meals.

Advocators said more than 150 school districts are participating, and more than 177,000 children would benefit from this program.

More than 80 organizations signed a letter to Governor Lamont requesting his continued support for the program in the FY 2024 budget.
