Sen. Richard Blumenthal tells News 12 his meeting with Ukrianian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy points to the urgent need for the United States to support Ukraine with military aid.

Blumenthal recently went on a trip to eastern Europe with a group of U.S. senators.

"If Ukraine receives American support, it can win. If we fail or falter, it will lose and hat will mean that Americans will be bleeding and dying on the battleground because Putin will continue to seize his next prey and we have an obligation to be there fighting him," said Blumenthal.

Blumenthal says while Ukraine has enough soldiers to defeat Russia, they do not have the necessary ammunition, artillery and other military hardware to win the war on their own.
