Office of the Chief Medical Examiner says overdoses deaths are declining in Connecticut.

Data from the office says in 2022, there 1,452 accidental overdoses.

Last year there were 1,329 overdoses.

According to the Department of Public Health, Connecticut residents are more likely to die from an unintentional drug overdose than a car accident.

They say the majority of overdoses are linked to prescription painkillers and opioids.
