Gov. Lamont announces the launch of microtransit services across the state

Gov. Ned Lamont and the state's transportation commissioner were at Mill Pond Village in East Windsor on Monday to announce the launch of microtransit services across Connecticut.
The microtransit service is part of a pilot program funded through the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Lamont said the new program will help seniors and people with disabilities travel in parts of the state that have historically been underserved by public transportation.
"The vans are accessible to make sure nobody is left behind, everybody has that opportunity here, and that's what microtransit is all about," said Lamont.
On-demand microtransit services will begin between March 26, and July 30. Locations include Norwalk, Milford, Bridgeport and Stamford.
