The New Haven Field Office of the FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Connecticut State Police launched a new financial fraud awareness public service announcement on Monday.

They say in 2023, residents of Connecticut lost an estimated $1.2 billion to fraud scams.

Officials said the new PSA is just one of several ongoing messages to the public about how to avoid falling a victim of scams.

Anyone who has been the victim of a scam is asked to call their local police and report the crime to the FBI at www.IC3.gov.

The full PSA is available here.
