Stratford police mourn loss of officer Ken Kubel
The department says Kubel suffered a sudden medical emergency.

Stratford police are mourning the loss of Officer Ken Kubel who suffered a sudden medical emergency.
Kubel, 56, was a patrol officer beginning 2015 until his death.
He previously was a member of the Bridgeport Police Department for 25 years, from 1990 to 2015, and retired with the rank of sergeant.
In a statement, the department said Kubel was "a person of great character and stature. His loyalty, passion for helping others and unwavering dedication inspired everyone around him."
The department also described Kubel as an exceptional officer, friend, father and husband who will be missed by all who knew him.
