Congregation Agudath Sholom in Stamford remembers Oct 7 attacks on Israel
Rabbi Cohen says even with the unrest in the Middle East, he and his congregation feel safe in these troubled times.

A local Rabbi is reflecting on the attacks on Israel one year ago.
"The suddenness and the horror of the news it's hard for me to get out of my mind," said Rabbi Daniel Cohen at Congregation Agudath Sholom in Stamford.
Cohen says someone came to his house a year ago and asked, "Did you hear what happened in Israel?"
As he spoke in the sanctuary he says he remembers the attacks on Israel last year like it was yesterday.
"I think it's so important for us not to forget what happened," said Cohen.
People in the Jewish community are coming to his synagogue a year later for services to pray, to reflect and remember.
"One of the things I have been focusing on is giving people strength. We cannot be in a state of despair, we cannot be in state of anxiety. Hopefully we can see that day, a day of peace God willing very soon," said Cohen.
Cohen says even with the unrest in the Middle East, he and his congregation feel safe in these troubled times.
"Thank God we have a wonderful police department here, security system. People that are really on guard. I mean we certainly are plugged in through our federation to the FBI God forbid if there's an imminent threat," said Cohen.
Cohen says this is a day of mourning but he continues to believe in the possibility of hope for a better world.
