A Bridgeport resident was seriously injured in a rollover accident on Route 8 near Exit 11 in Shelton.

The incident took place around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday when, according to state police, the vehicle inexplicably veered across three lanes of traffic before losing control and crashing.

The passenger, identified as Kyle Clarke, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was subsequently transported to Bridgeport Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car sustained only minor injuries in the incident.

Police have not yet released the name of the driver or provided further details on the condition of Clarke or the extent of the injuries. They encourage anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward with information.
