Shelton Animal Control said a dog found at a construction site in Shelton had to be euthanized.

The dog was discovered soaking wet inside a cage around 5 a.m. Wednesday at 1055 Bridgeport Ave.

Medical staff at VCA Shoreline Veterinary said the dog suffered multiple fractures to the pelvis and other injuries.

They said the injuries would leave the dog paralyzed and in severe pain, leading to the decision to euthanize the animal.

“The dog was most likely dumped in the middle of the night in pain and suffering,” Shelton Animal Control wrote in a Facebook post.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the animal shelter at 203-924-2501.
