Brookfield officials: Suspicious packages with seeds are part of national scam

People should not open the packages and should properly dispose of them, officials say.

Brookfield officials are warning residents of a national scam involving seeds.

On Friday and Saturday, fire and police were called to different locations in town regarding calls of people receiving unsolicited and suspicious packages with seeds inside.

Officials say the packages also have QR codes and expressed concerns about malware.

People should not open the packages and should properly dispose of them, officials say.

Anyone concerned about the packages or its contents is asked to call police.
