President Donald Trump’s decision to strike three nuclear facilities in Iran has been met with mixed reception from Connecticut politicians.
Rep. Rosa DeLauro stated that the move to launch direct military action without congressional approval “is a violation of the Constitution.”
She added, “This could drag the United States into an extended war in the Middle East — a war the American people do not want."
Sen. Chris Murphy also expressed disapproval.
"I've been briefed on the intelligence - there is no evidence Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States. That makes this attack illegal."
State Senator Minority Leader Stephen Harding released a statement supporting the president’s decision.
"We thank our U.S. service members and all who conducted this very successful operation. The Connecticut Senate Republicans will always stand with our strong ally Israel and its citizens. God bless our military and God bless America."
