Bridgeport man arrested on sexual assault charges

Bridgeport police say they arrested a man who sexually assaulted a woman in his basement bedroom of his North End home.
They say 24-year-old Therdy Joseph connected with the 19-year-old female victim through an online app and they agreed to meet on Saturday.
According to police, the victim, who was not from Bridgeport, was able to escape after the assault and called 911. Police took her to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Joseph is facing sexual assault and strangulation among other charges and is being held without bond until his court appearance later today.
Police say Joseph’s arrest was the third high-profile sexual assault arrest in the city over the past several weeks.
