Dead dog found inside duffle bag in Derby

Officials say the dog was discovered in a men's black suit duffle type bag along a building on 6th Street.

Shelton Animal Control is asking for the public's help for any information on a deceased dog found inside a duffle bag in Derby.

The dog was discovered in a men's black suit duffle type bag along a building on 6th Street.

The dog is described as an unneutered male, who is a mix of pit bull, French bulldog and Boston Terrier that is mainly tan with white patches on its body and face and medium sized.

It was last seen wearing a nylon black collar with a piece of zip tie connected to it.

It's not clear when the dog was found or when they died.

Anyone with information is asked to call animal control at 203-924-2501 of Derby police at 203-735-7811.

Callers can remain anonymous.

Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the individual responsible for the death of the animal.

The organization will also cover the costs of a full necropsy at the University of Connecticut.
