Turkey isn't the only thing on the menu in Greenwich this holiday season.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich also served up a side of tradition, hosting its 23rd annual Thanksgiving Feast Tuesday night.

Neighborhood volunteers and community members helped serve up hot meals to more than 300 kids.

"It's a special day," said CEO Cristina Vittoria . "I want us to always be grateful for that."

Don Palmer, VP of programs and youth development, started the event more than two decades ago.

"Everybody giving back," Palmer says. "That's what Thanksgiving is all about."

Board member and Greenwich native Mike Parelli used to be one of the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich not too long ago.

He says coming back to volunteer is a full circle moment, and it's what the community here is all about.

"People in the community make it special, and the kids respond to it," Parelli says. "They see the love; they see the food. It's just a safe space to have a great day and celebrate Thanksgiving."

Club members like young Adriana Giresi thanked the staff and volunteers who made it possible.

"I've been here for a very long time, and they've been here to support us," Giresi says. "I'd like to thank them."
