Wanted Norwalk man tries fleeing officers after backing into police cruiser

A wanted man accused of trying to escape police was arrested Sunday in Norwalk, according to authorities.
Police say the incident began when they attempted to apprehend 25-year-old Yahya Sonko on Quaker Road. He then backed into a police cruiser, got out and fled on foot.
Officers caught him near the Dollar Tree on Connecticut Avenue. They say they found a loaded handgun, ammunition and dozens of oxycodone pills inside his car.
Authorities say Sonko is due in court next month.
