Stratford elementary school principal resigns

A Stratford school community is reacting to the sudden resignation of its principal.
School officials confirmed Daniel Hicks has turned in a letter Monday morning saying he "resigned effective immediately" from Second Hill Lane Elementary School.
There is no word on the reason for his sudden departure at this time. District officials said they will not comment on personnel matters.
They add that their focus is on ensuring a smooth transition for the students and staff.
Police say they are conducting an investigation and so far there are no indications of criminal behavior.
