A small memorial now sits at the intersection of Pitkin Avenue and Osborn Street, where former Nickelodeon star Kianna Underwood was killed in a hit-and-run on Friday morning.

Police sources say the SUV who hit her has been seized by police.

Police sources initially told News 12 that the driver was in custody, but said that is no longer the case Tuesday morning.

Police say the sedan dragged Underwood's body for two blocks before both vehicles fled the scene.

Authorities confirm that the vehicle recovered was the Ford Explorer SUV that first struck Underwood last week.

The black Ford SUV that first hit Underwood had 25 speeding tickets, including six last year alone, according to the advocacy group Transportation Alternatives, who obtained the car’s license plate.
