A victim of fertility fraud is asking state lawmakers for a more understanding view at the statute of limitations.

On Monday, Victoria Hill asked lawmakers in Hartford to let victims file a lawsuit within three years of discovering the fraud.

The current law allows victims to sue within three years of insemination. Many victims argue that this is not enough time because most individuals do not find out about the abuse until much later.

Hill unknowingly dated her own half-brother after a New Haven fertility doctor allegedly fathered 22 of his patients' children.

Hill tried to sue the clinic but was told that the statute of limitations ran out decades ago.
