Torrington police looking for woman whose dog bit a juvenile and left area

Its owner is described as a woman with dark hair in her 20s to 30s. She initially wore a light colored shirt, blank pants and black shoes. Officers say she left the area without identifying herself.

Torrington police are looking to identity a woman whose dog bit a juvenile Friday.

It happened just before 3 p.m. near Maplewood and Central avenues.

Police say the dog is a light gray/tan pit bull or similar looking mixed breed.

Its owner is described as a woman with dark hair in her 20s to 30s. She initially wore a light colored shirt, black pants and black shoes. Officers say she left the area without identifying herself.

They believe the woman later returned wearing a green/brown shirt to retrieve her phone that was dropped during the incident.

The woman was last seen walking north on Maplewood.

Police did not provide any information or description of the juvenile. It's also not cl ear what caused the dog to bite them.

Anyone with information on the women or has additional surveillance footage is asked to call 860-489-2007.
