The state’s spring wild turkey hunting season begins Wednesday, April 29, and runs through May 30.

Officials say legal hunting hours are from one hour before sunrise through sunset. Hunters are allowed to harvest a total of five bearded birds during the season, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said.

Those planning to hunt on a Sunday must do so on private land under state law.
