Hundreds of teens and young adults swarmed Pier Village in Long Branch. Video shows the gathering escalating into fights, with teens jumping, dancing, and crowding into the streets. The city said a substantial portion of the crowd arrived by NJ Transit. Six people were arrested -- two young women, ages 18 and 19, and four younger teens.

New Jersey officials and authorities have released a public service announcement urging residents to be aware of and report human trafficking during the 2026 FIFA World Cup games at the Meadowlands.

A Keyport resident not happy with the state response to a potential cancer cluster is doing his own testing. Sal Liguori says three family members who lived at his house on Raritan Bay got sick. His son Anthony, a singer, died from an unknown cancer. The Keyport part of the bay is known to have carcinogens from an improperly capped landfill. Liguori is also concerned about the soil and air. State Department of Environmental Protection testing is slated for the coming weeks. Liguori, however, is not pleased with a recent community meeting on the issue.
