A touch of old-Hollywood sparkle filled Stew Leonard’s in Newington during a celebration of Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday.
The store marked what would have been Monroe’s 100th birthday on Monday with a tribute to the Hollywood icon, who once lived in Connecticut. The event drew crowds for a look-alike contest, live music and champagne tastings, a nod to one of Monroe’s most famous indulgences.
Shoppers and fans packed the store to join the festivities, snapping photos with the look-alikes and raising a glass in honor of the legendary star. Staff said the celebration brought a burst of old-Hollywood glamour to the aisles and plenty of smiles from customers.
