The Stepping Stones Museum for Children is getting the word out to Norwalk families who receive SNAP food benefits that they can now get a free yearlong membership.

The Open Arms Neighbors Membership program launched June 1.

Staff say members have access to interactive exhibits, STEAM workshops and playful learning.

“We really believe that by giving children the ability to come anytime throughout the year, we're deepening the experience for them,” said Carolyn Knott, vice president of development for Stepping Stones Museum For Children. “The benefit of them being able to be here every day, as often as they want.”

Knott says all of the museum's programming is aligned with the Norwalk Public Schools curriculum.
