Brooklynites hit the polls to cast their votes in the primary election
The city's Board of Elections website said wait times at the P.S. 217 poll site were more than 50 minutes, though poll workers say the day was smooth.

News 12 has been tracking how many people are actually turning out to cast their ballot in the New York primary.
At the polling site at P.S. 217 elementary school, the crowds were really picking up by 7 p.m., with many voters deciding to cast their ballot in the post-work rush.
Lines formed by many of the check-in tables, as each table was separated by election district.
Earlier in the day, the city’s Board of Elections website stated that wait times were more than 50 minutes.
Poll workers told News 12 that overall, the day had been smooth.
Many voters told News 12 they were content with their voting experience and also shared what brought them out to cast their ballot.
"It's always important to vote for me," said Stephanie Mankins, of Flatbush. "I vote every chance I get."
"I always want my voice to be heard," said voter Dorian King.
Polls close Tuesday at 9 p.m.
