Fairfield’s first annual Fairfield Frolic kicks off Sunday with a scenic walk through the Bronson Road garden centers and a chance to support local small businesses.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., beginning at Native Nursery at 1899 Bronson Road. Participants can explore the area’s garden centers and take in the natural surroundings.

Organizers say the Frolic is designed to highlight local growers, encourage appreciation for nature and create a relaxed, family-friendly way to spend the afternoon.

An herb-focused workshop will also be offered Saturday by herb expert David Gilson from the Herb Lyceum in Groton, Massachusetts. Participants will learn how to create their own herb garden and take-home organic herb plants. The workshop will be held at Outdoor Design & Living, located at 1301 Bronson Road in Fairfield.
