Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim is advising the public not to panic if they hear a series of loud explosions near the Lake Success Business Park through the end of the month.
The controlled detonations are part of a major environmental cleanup effort on the 400-acre property formerly known as Remington Woods.
"The area will become a public preserve -- but first it needs to be cleared of old bullets and bombs from the days when Bridgeport was a military industrial hub," Ganim said.
