FBI complaint identifies Poughkeepsie man charged after armed raid in Town of Poughkeepsie
A federal criminal complaint alleges agents recovered multiple firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition from a home in Poughkeepsie and surveillance video showing the defendant handling a handgun.

Federal prosecutors have identified the man at the center of Wednesday morning’s massive FBI operation in the Town of Poughkeepsie and released new details about what agents say they found inside the home.
A federal criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York identifies 44-year-old Ali Khan Lodhi and charges him with possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon.
According to the complaint, sworn by an FBI special agent, investigators recovered a Troy A4-style 9mm firearm, a Glock 45 handgun, multiple loaded magazines — including two extended magazines taped together — and several hundred rounds of ammunition during a search of Lodhi’s Malmros Terrace home. The complaint also alleges surveillance video from a Poughkeepsie marijuana dispensary shows Lodhi retrieving what appeared to be a handgun from his waistband and handing it to another person.
A nearby resident previously told News 12 they were awakened around 6 a.m. by loudspeaker announcements identifying the FBI and ordering people inside the home to come out with their hands up. The resident also said they saw children leave the home with their hands raised during the operation.
The complaint further states another person at the home told investigators the firearms belonged to her but that she had left them with Lodhi for safekeeping. Investigators allege Lodhi was prohibited from possessing firearms because of prior felony convictions.
According to the complaint, Lodhi’s criminal history includes felony convictions for burglary, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana in New York.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies assisted with Wednesday’s operation.
The FBI previously confirmed only that it was conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity and referred additional questions to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
