Norwalk teen killed after being hit by Metro-North train
Investigators say the teen was one of three people who were not authorized to be on the tracks at the time.

A 16-year-old boy died after being struck by a Metro-North train in Norwalk Wednesday night, according to Metropolitan Transportation Authority police.
Police say the incident happened at approximately 8 p.m. when a train traveling from Danbury to South Norwalk, struck Jefrey Ordonez, of Norwalk, on a bridge south of the Merritt 7 station.
Investigators say the teen was one of three people who were not authorized to be on the tracks at the time.
When emergency crews arrived behind 353 Main Ave., they found two uninjured males, who are 17 and 20, being escorted off the tracks by police. Those individuals told responders a third person was trapped beneath the train.
The victim was found under a rail car between two tracks on a bridge over a river, where access was limited and emergency crews faced significant safety challenges.
Firefighters, police officers and EMS personnel worked together to remove the teen from beneath the train using a Reeves Sleeve before moving him through a passenger rail car. He was later transferred to a Stokes basket and carried to a waiting ambulance.
The rescue operation took approximately 15 minutes.
The teen was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:39 p.m.
MTA police say the other two individuals, ages 17 and 20, were detained and charged with trespassing.
There were no injuries reported among the train crew or passengers.
Approximately 25 passengers aboard the train were transferred to a backup train to complete their trip.
Danbury Branch service was temporarily suspended while authorities conducted their investigation.
