Common Ground was established in Norwalk one year ago. The wellness hub located at 10 River St. is home to five businesses that offer services ranging from haircare and skincare to tattoos and art.

According to Common Ground, they are the only space in the area that serves as a one-stop shop for wellness.

"You see very few small businesses survive in the economy that we live in, so when you find a place that you trust and love, you just need to keep coming back," said Stephanie Cocchia, a customer.

To celebrate their anniversary, the business offered free popcorn and snow cones to the community.

The Funky Squirrel is one of the businesses inside Common Ground. They're a vintage boutique shop, and this is their first brick-and-mortar location.

"Norwalk is ever-changing, and we have all these festivals on the street here now. So we've had a lot of people coming to see us," said Jacki DiProspero, owner of The Funky Squirrel.

One of the Common Ground managers said they are grateful for their success and how far they've come.

"We've gone through our ups and downs even within this one year, but the community has been so welcoming. The clients love this space," said Sophia Kiriakides, co-manager of Common Ground.
