A Brookfield doctor is accused of sexual assaulting a young patient and giving them a methamphetamine, police say.

Dr. Jose Mahfoud was arrested Thursday following a monthslong investigation. Investigators also executed a search warrant at Sophia Natural Health Center, where Mahfoud practiced.

Police say a juvenile told an officer that Mahfoud provided them with methamphetamine while they were receiving treatment. They also informed police that Mahfoud engaged in a sexual relationship with them.

Investigators learned that the victim and Mahfoud communicated through Telegram. They were able to receive access to the account and communicated with Mahfoud.

Mahfoud has been charged with sexual assault and distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18 years old.

Police say Sophia Natural Health Center has cooperated with investigators.
