A Stamford man is facing charges for allegedly stealing checks from the United States Postal Service and depositing them into his own account.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 23-year-old Bradleigh Rival stole over 100 Social Security checks from people in Connecticut and New York worth thousands of dollars in 2024.
Prosecutors say Rival altered the names on the checks in order to steal the money.
Rival was arrested on Sept. 16 and charged with bank fraud, theft or possession of stolen mail and aggravated identity theft.
He could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
