Newly released bodycam video shows a Connecticut State Police K-9 tracking down a driver who fled into the woods after a crash in New Hartford.
The footage shows K-9 Onyx leading troopers through a wooded area before locating the suspect a short distance from the crash scene.
State police say the driver walked away after crashing a Hyundai Elantra into a utility pole, snapping it at the base. Witnesses reported seeing the man leave the scene and head into the woods.
Troopers say they found empty alcohol containers inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 53-year-old David Peck of Torrington, was charged with DUI, evading responsibility, using a cellphone while driving and failure to maintain his lane.
