A Pennsylvania man was killed following a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95 North in Darien Tuesday, state police say.
It happened at 6:49 a.m. near the Northbound Darien Rest Area.
Police say a 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra pickup truck collided with a 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 GT driven by Alexander Rivera in the right lane, right before the exit ramp that leads to the rest area.
They say following the crash, the motorcycle went through the gore of the exit ramp and landed in the rest area's grassy median. It then flipped over and Rivera hit the base of a highway plaza sign.
He died at the scene, according to officials.
Police say the pickup truck did not stay on scene.
The vehicle is believed to be missing its side-view mirror and has damage consistent with a sideswipe crash.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information on the evading vehicle is asked to contact Trooper Daniel Sottini at Daniel.Sottini@ct.gov or at 203-696-2500.
