The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred on Fairfield Avenue before 10 a.m. Thursday.

Police said a 34-year-old New Haven man suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds to his calf and shoulder.

Investigators believe the stabbing occurred beneath the Route 25 overpass on Fairfield Avenue, next to the victim’s truck, police said.

Bridgeport Hospital’s security department notified police after the victim drove himself to the hospital and walked into the emergency room, police said.
