Connecticut State Police and first responders came together Monday to mark the beginning of National Crash Responder Safety Week.
A state police commanding officer stressed the importance of road safety, especially now with the sun setting earlier as the winter months approach.
"As we enter the fall and winter months, poor visibility, rain, snow and black ice all make responsible driving more important," said Col. Daniel Loughman, of the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection.
National Crash Responder Safety Week runs through this Friday.
