Stamford police officers came together Wednesday to commemorate the life of Sergeant Mike Lynch and raise money for his family.
The 29-year veteran lost a five month fight to cancer. However, his friends and family want to remember the life he lived, not the life he lost. His colleagues say they will remember their Sergeant as a role model who loved his family, loved being a cop, and would do anything for anybody.
Lynch leaves behind a wife, a daughter and two sons, one of whom followed his footsteps into the police department. His fellow officers say looking at his son Kevin will be a daily reminder that Mike is still with them.
