Nine people were displaced following a destructive apartment fire on Willow Drive in Monmouth County late Wednesday night.
Firefighters responded to the blaze and arrived to find flames shooting through the roof of the structure. Multiple fire departments joined forces on the scene to bring the heavy fire under control.
All nine residents, spanning four families, escaped safely and are currently receiving assistance from the American Red Cross for emergency lodging, food and clothing. Disaster health and mental health services have also been deployed to aid those affected.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by authorities.
