The City of Norwalk hosted their Kwanzaa celebration at City Hall Friday night.
It featured local vendors and cultural performances.
During each day of the weeklong holiday, a different principle and its special meaning are honored.
Friday's event took place on the second day, which focuses on the principle of self-determination.
City officials say it's important to celebrate all cultures.
"It's a celebration of Kwanzaa, seven days of Kwanzaa and it's a celebration of Black American culture but also the Black experience around the world and the Black Diaspora," said Robert Stowers, director of parks and recreation.
