Police in Bridgeport say a man has been hospitalized after being hit by a car while crossing the street in a wheelchair.

Viewer video was taken from the scene at the corner of East Main and Maple streets.

According to police Chief A.J. Perez, the nasty weather conditions may have played a role.

Police say the man in the wheelchair was taken to the hospital.

The car involved was damaged, but the driver was not hurt.
